In the past 30 years, I have written nearly one thousand poems & several short stories. I’ve also been published numerous times on the internet at such sites as Junkyard Press (now defunct), Quantum Muse, Free-verse, Ergo Poetry, (kerouac is the name I use here), Inky Fresh Press as well as others. I have Self-Published three books to date and am currently writing full time about reptiles. I describe my poetry as…
“emotional tangents with a bit of social commentary thrown in for good measure. They’re me, all the good and bad rolled up into one; usually more of the bad.”
Below is a list of all the poems in no particular order.
Slip of the Hand Beneath the Moon
Her fingers danced

I glanced back
Into those lips

Subtle but
Intense
"Call me for conversation, or whatever."
Would she dance with me

Pride
Yes
I am
Prideful
I've scraped in survival
creating a living
only to lose

bridge still lingers in the hollow shadows of sunset

Labor is all I've known

happiness
Just O.K.
I'm just ok

It is our faults
real and imagined
which bring us together
to tear us apart
It's Never Too Late

“You miss 100% of the shots
You don’t take” Wayne Gretzky
I’ve chased the grey flannel ghost
His homeland and back I’ve come
Suckling rattlesnakes in the Arizona
desert beneath a star ravaged sky passing
to the
Port of emotions
Did we ever believe
in the fantasy
Slow Burn
Slow Burn
You know nothing of how the dark
Ocean calls my name
be it the slow ebb
serenity promised like a succubus
Deeper she trills
pushing and thrusting through the depths
consciousness unbound
slow release
Just Enough
Just enough
to get the juices flowing the right way, that's the excuse
the truth is the burn and slight dalliances within the mind so subtle and sweet are too seductive
some fall victim, others feign control, even more just
ACCEPT
It's the price of

Someday Dragons
Paddling
a wake
stirred in the dream sea
as I watch the Koi
swimming beneath white capped waves
collapsing and rising again
they dream of being
Dragons
someday

Bridges
She burst through
the pallid moonscape with a breathless
summer kiss
Lingering
upon her lips
Feeding our hermetic appetites
folding into the bliss of unity
allowing the harvest of ashes to be taken up
by those who
lit the match
Historical hysteria
finds no foothold here
too little time and far much more to
Be
