Lighthouse

Lighthouse

As a sailor of olde

I hold onto the bulkhead

my innards spinning

out of control

emotional tsunamis

Smash my tiny vessel

as she pitches & rolls

staying desperately

afloat

I can see

light

distant

capturing moments of

brief hope

with each cresting wave

She waits

falling to my

knees

the deck slick

with my blood and seawater

I can only pray

she feels my love &

calls me home
